Lambert performed “For Your Entertainment” at the American Music Awards. The performance soon became controversial as it featured Lambert kissing his male keyboardist, grinding a dancer’s head against his pelvis, and grabbing the crotch of another. Lambert told Rolling Stone magazine, “Female performers have been doing this for years — pushing the envelope about sexuality — and the minute a man does it, everybody freaks out. We’re in 2009 — it’s time to take risks, be a little more brave, time to open people’s eyes and if it offends them, then maybe I’m not for them. My goal was not to piss people off, it was to promote freedom of expression and artistic freedom.”

I think the only thing inappropriate about this performance is Lambert’s voice, it’s literally painful to listen to.

“When I was seven and my mom was married to another one of my stepdads.. you know you always have to listen to your ‘parents’ no matter how drunk and abusive they are because they’re the ones that feed you. Well anyway, there was still segregation and my parents had a subscription to this terrible record company and they’d just send horrible fuckin honky tonk and they’d play it through the stereo and I just HATED it. Well one day, there must’ve been a glitch in the system because they sent a Cannonball Adderely record. Mom picked it up and said ‘what the fuck is this nigger music here for??’ and threw it in the trash. I waited until they left and put it in. God Corinne, it was like I was coming out of the closet for the first time! I remember thinking ‘is there something wrong with me because I like nigger music?’ but now we both know how things turned out, and to this day Cannonball is the best musician of all time in my eyes.”

Last year I made Corinne and I get a real tree but I got a bit ambitious and got an 8’ or 9’ tree and it was hilarious. My holiday cheer this year is coming to life! I can’t wait to bake gingerbread and sugar cookies from scratch, to drink hot chocolate, to go to the Trail of Lights, to wear my legwarmers more, to christmas shop! Eeeee and my mom is buying a house so she wants to have Christmas at my place, and I wasn’t going to get a tree but I think I will now. I love real christmas trees because they smell so good. I just wish Sigur didn’t like to chew on them.

Last Christmas with Kati was so cute, I’m glad she went behind my back and got the big tree. Walker wearing antlers, and having stocking for our pets that we never got around to hanging on our “fireplace.” I really wish I still had one! Oh, and hot chocolate in our matching cups! Last year was so good.
